Gripwax: Clean and sand bases.

Base: Iron in a layer of Base Wax, and clean excess off edges and groove.

Grip: Apply a layer or 2 of Synthetic Blue over the Base. Then apply 2 layers of RF Red grip, with a shorter 3rd layer under the ball of the foot and slightly forward of the binding. Then apply a thin layer of FHF60 over the top.

Forecast/conditions: Overnight low of 27, temps at race start 32F, with an expected high of 46. Mostly sunny with light east winds. Expect new, transforming snow mixed with transformed snow.

Glidewax: Apply a layer of LF8 or MF8 Blue, scrape and brush. Apply HF4 or FHF4, scrape and brush.

Topcoat: FHF11 block, or HF11 block, crayoned on and either roto-corked or ironed through a sheet of fiberlene. After base cools, rub on another layer of fluor block, and hand-cork. Brush out with dedicated fluor brushes.

Gripwax: Clean and sand gripzone. Apply a thin layer of Base Klister, or a layer of Base Spray. Apply a Layer of FHF 50 Universal Klister, and let cool. Apply a layer of MFW Blue or Oslo Racing Extra Blue onto the klister, and carefully blend with the klister. Let cool, and add another layer of the MFW or Oslo Blue.

Topcoat: FHF11, rubbed on and ironed into base through a sheet of fiberlene. Apply a 2nd thin layer of FHF11, and hand-cork. AFter cooling, brush the ski with designated fluor brushes. Alternative fluor block: HF11, applied the same way as FHF11. Speed tip: Apply HF1 liquid HFxt Gel Purple on top of the rubbed on block, and roto-cork together. Hand-cork and brush.

Topcoat: FHF11 block, rubbed on and ironed through a sheet of fiberlene. Let cool, and hand cork. Polish with designated fluor brushes, and wipe with a cloth. Alternate method of application: Rub on FHF11, and apply FHF3 on top. Roto-cork the two together, let cool, hand-cork, and polish.

Glidewax: Apply LF8 Blue, MF8 Blue or ABM4 moly base, scraped and brushed. Apply HF4 Red or FHF4 Red, scraping and brushing.

Topcoat: Crayon on a layer of FHF11 block, and roto-cork to heat in. Speed Tip: apply FHF3 or FHF1 liquids to the block after the block has been crayoned on, and roto-cork the two together.

Gripwax: Clean and sand gripzone. Apply a layer of Base or Blue Klister, and allow to cool. Apply Red and Special Klister, blended together, and spread with a cork.

Forecast/conditions: Above freezing temps with moisture in the days leading up to the race. Thin snowpack containing mostly transformed snow with some dirt. Highs around 40 Friday dropping to just below freezing Friday night, rising to mid-30s at race time. 40% chance of precipitation during race.

Glidewax: Apply LF8 Blue glider, scraped and brushed. Apply BM4 Purple Black Magic Glider, scraped and brushed. For topcoat, rub on BMR5 block, hand- or Roto-Corked, brushed and polished. Alt topcoat: BMR9 liquid, hand-corked, brushed and polished.

Gripwax: Sand grip zone with 150grit sandpaper. Apply a layer of Base blister and iron in, or apply Base Klister Spray. Let Base Klister cool/set, and then apply Purple KLister blended with Special Klister. It is possible that Black Magic Klister blended with the Purple and Special will improve performance of the grip and glide qualities of the wax.

Saturday, January 5. 10am, 15k skate. Age Group wave start. 3 laps, 5k loop.

Forecast/conditions: Overnight low of 12F, temp at start about 25F. Cold, dry, old snow warming throughout the day, mostly sunny with high near 40.

Glidewax: Apply LF10 Green, scrape while still warm, and brush. For U16 and older, apply MF8 or HF8 Blue, scrape and brush. For U14 Juniors, apply SG10 Green, and then SG8 Blue. For a topcoat, crayon a layer of HF13 block onto the base, and hand- or Roto-cork it into the base. Alt method: iron the crayoned layer of HF13 into the base, holding a piece of fiberlene between the iron and the base to avoid burning the ski base. Take approx 60 seconds to traverse the base, moving in one direction tip to tail. Let the base cool, then hand-cork, brush out with a dedicated fluoro brush, and polish. Note: no flouro topcoats for Junior racers.
