Jan 9 Test Results

It is very wet out here today and the tracks are firm.  The water has drained through the man made snow making an almost sun cupped surface.  The temperatures today are forecast to be similar to tomorrow, with the notable change that it is supposed to freeze tonight.

In my initial kick test MFW yellow and Special klister covered with FHF 10 were the best combos.  All combos have Base klister underneath which will be a very important step for tomorrow.  I am going back out with some colder underlayers /mixes to see if I can find more speed and also looking to the freezing temps tonight which could make for very firm tracks especially in the morning.  Zeros are also reported to be working.  My observation is that a lot of the training athletes are having a hard time finding kick and also warn athletes about fast and icy downhills.

Our clear glide winner this morning was: LF8 base, HF02 race paraffin, topping - 3 drops FHF1 spread over the ski covered with FHF5 powder - ironed together.  Come by if you want a demonstration of this application.

The second option would be BM6 base, HF02 race paraffin, topping BMR5 block ironed in with SERVICE fiberlene.

Stay tuned and please come say hi - Trailer 13.
